Job Description
Responsibilities:
Establish equipment requirements and prepare equipment data sheets for mechanical equipment including unfired and fired heat transfer equipment, packaged equipment, pressure vessels, pumps and compressors, or packaged equipment
Evaluate dimensions, equipment connections, and equipment performance including pressure profiles, heat transfer rates, and off-design cases
Provide equipment sizing and application support to project development or process
Participate in material selection for equipment
Develop and revise equipment lists, narrative specifications, equipment standards, equipment general arrangement and outline drawings
Participate in supplier/contractor bid clarification, negotiation, and/or award meetings
Represent Mechanical in model reviews and closely monitor 3D equipment modeling activities
Provide consultation during fabrication and witness testing of equipment
Provide consultation and/or on-site assistance for the installation, commissioning, and/or start up of equipment
Minimum Qualifications
Job Requirements
Preferably a graduate of BS Mechanical Engineering
Professional Registration and active participation in external technical society preferred.
With at least five (5) years extensive experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) for engineering and design of centrifugal, reciprocating, rotary and air compressors, etc. for Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industries with thorough understanding of pertinent international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc) and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
Must have an extensive knowledge in engineering works such as preparation of data sheet, preparation of requisitions and specifications in accordance with project specifications and Client requirements, evaluation of technical quotations from vendors including selection and interfaces
With extensive knowledge of compressor design and specifications (dry gas seal system, lube oil system, gear boxes, instrumentation & controls, auxiliaries, etc).
Under general supervision, can perform and check moderately complex calculations and design, and other work using both computer-aided and manual design techniques
Can perform all subsequent detail engineering work after purchase such as Vendor documents/drawing review and squad checking, preparation of design information for other related disciplines, 3D model reviews, technical coordination work, Vendor shop meetings, etc.
Can perform self-check of completed work, develop self confidence, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers, participates in people development through mentoring, development of training materials and conducting of training/seminars
Travel, as required to participate vendor shop meetings, Field Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT) of major mechanical equipment to ensure the successful execution of project
Capable in MS Office applications and AutoCAD •Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), AutoCAD and email.
Knowledgeable in Microstation, PDS, PDMS, SP3D is a plus
