Description:
Job Specification:
1. To Ascertain that all materials incorporated into work pass the requirement of DPWH Standard Specifications for Highways, Bridges and Airport and to strictly comply with the schedule of Minimum Testing Requirements.
2. To prepare design mixes for concrete and bitumen mixtures.
3. To conduct soil investigations and materials survey of probable sources of materials, and reporting approximate quantity available, suitcapability of materials and other pertinent data.
4. To see that samples are sent to the Regional/District Laboratory are well packed in durable containers to avoid damages at transit, and that all samples are accompanied by a card filled-up in detail.
5. To see that all weighing devices and testing machines are maintained and calibrated in conformity with the DPWH Standard Specification.
6. To have at all times the complete and up-to-date materials map of the province or city, charts and diagrams showing progress of work, etc. posted in laboratory building.
7. To submit within required time frame tests reports and other pertinent papers to the Project Implementing Office.
8. To develop a system filling pertinent reports on testing quality control ready at any time for appraisal, inspection or quality assurance audit.

Appropriate qualifications:
1. Must be a Civil Engineer.
2. With at least 3 years work practice in the same capacity or equivalent or much willing to learn.
3. Must be an accredited Materials Engineer.
4. Strong sense of professionalism and integrity.
5. Must be keen in details, patient and optimistic.
6. Possesses good judgement and decision making skill.
7. Possesses good communication and leadership abilities expertise.

While the company covers a wide variety of services in the field of engineering and construction, Information technology focuses its business on infrastructure development, an area of activity Information technology considers important and vital to the socio-economic development of the country. Thus, looking at its past and present record of completed projects, most of these involve infrastructure development and construction in less developed provinces in the Mindanao Region and even maintaining a geographical focus in region X, XI and XII. This strategy also makes its construction management and monitoring cost effective resulting in minimum mobilization cost and better utilization of its construction equipment and facilities.
Just shortly afterULTICONbegan its operations in 1993, construction works opportunity opened up to the company. Information technology was awarded various contracts from different government agencies, a just compensate for its having completed its previous projects on time and at high standards of quality.
This was a dream fulfilling practice for an upstart company headed by its founder and president, Mr. Carlos ?Charlie? S. Gonzalez and his brother Engr. Raul ?Sonny? S. Gonzalez who started ULTICON with a vision and philosophy located on an age-old belief that there is no substitute for hard work, persistence and determination in making things work and in its commitment to deliver to its principal proponent a project completed on time and at high standards of work quality.
At present ULTICON has satisfactorily completed various projects in these above-mentioned areas from road openings, road construction and rehabilitation, highway pavement, construction of bridges and irrigation projects.
One of ULTICON's landmark project is the construction of the Cateel-Compostela diversion road project in Davao Oriental. The once virtually ?impassable and impossible 37 kilometer road? was constructed with two semi-permanent bailey bridges by ULTICON. The completion of this road shortened the travel time from Davao City to Cateel, Davao Oriental by 3 hours. This stretch of road was a well-known haven of the NPAs or Communist Rebels.
The company prides itself with a staff of highly trained, qualified and practiced engineers and professionals from various fields of discipline in the engineering, planning and supervision of different construction activities utilizing updated technologies.
The company also maintains its present machineries and equipment pool designed to serve its base level of construction activities ranging between P1 Billion to P3 Billion of government construction contracts per year.
ULTICON is categorized by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board as a Quadruple A or ?AAAA? contractor and prides itself as an ISO certified company with OHSAS 18001 : 2007, ISO 9001 : 2015, ISO 14001 : 2015, since November 11, 2010. The company has operated its business prosperously over the years, from its humble beginnings in 1993, and now enjoys a respectable reputation in the Construction Industry.
