Key Responsibilities
The Market Manager drives the export performance for the IDP market for the Maersk and Hamburg Sud brands, while being overall responsible for the long-term business portfolio. The Market Manager is responsible for translating the strategy to the Maersk and Hamburg Sud's Area commercial organization and manage the tender season planning and execution to deliver on set financial targets.
You will develop and adopt trade strategies in collaboration with the Maersk global head office, including recommending product changes based on local market intelligence and the identification of multiple product corridors. Using your influencing skills, you will enhance the execution of the strategy and gain consensus from sales colleagues by clearly explaining the priorities.
The Market Manager role requires active engagement with Maersk head office Network and Market and Contracting teams in order to enable positive tender outcomes and constantly optimise yields. This includes providing strategic recommendations on business development opportunities with regards customer and product segments, network and pricing.
Applying an operational and tactical mind set, the Market Manager will focus on the day-to-day running of the trade; converting market knowledge into opportunities and collaborating with the Area product team to develop new products to our portfolio to connect and simplify supply chains.
