Equity Research Associate
The role will be part of an offshore research team located in Manila (Philippines) for the Equity Research
division of a global investment banking client.
The associate will join as an offshore Equity Research Associate in Manila for our client's Greater China
team, specializing in the Consumer sector. He/she will support the onshore associates or analysts of our
client to provide insights in different aspects such as economic, market and industry within their stock
coverage.
This role involves database management, financial modeling & analysis, monitoring and understanding
press releases and disclosures and may contribute in research report writing.
Key Responsibilities
• Research equities of target industries and companies to provide evidence to investment
decisions
• Create and maintain financial models and sector specific databases with the onshore
associate/analyst
• Analyze company performances, conducting KPI benchmarking study/trend analysis
• Respond to requests for data and information from internal and external clients
• Support in drafting research reports on equities, consumer industry-related developments to
summarize research findings
• May assist in the design and preparation of analyst marketing strategy and materials
Qualifications and Requirements
• University degree with 1-2 years relevant experience in company and industry analysis, in the
Consumer sector preferred
• Open to Fresh graduates with good academic scores and with background in finance, economics
and management
• Native or professional proficiency in both English and simplified Mandarin
• Experience working with an investment bank a plus
• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and forecasting
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate effectively and express complex ideas succinctly
• Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
• Quick learner with an ability work well under pressure
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, morning shift
WORK LOCATION: Makati
WFH or OFFICE BASED: Temporary WFH until such time it's determined to be safe to go back to the office, or if need arises
Please note that what's critical are 1) Mandarin skills, 2) financial modeling skills and 3) market/industry research skills
