Tasks
As a Managing Editor, you are responsible for supervising a content team. You will develop an editorial process to ensure a constant stream of high-quality texts, articles, blogs, reports, and other materials get published on all of our partnering websites.
You will be directly working with a content team and reporting directly to the Management and Marketing team to ensure that the tone, style, accuracy, and credibility of the communication fits the target audience and scope of the company.
An ideal candidate is an outstanding writer and editor with leadership, communication, and journalism skills who is passionate to take the DMG content team to the next level. Has an excellent track record of building and managing teams to produce high-quality content with an active interest in digital media, blockchain, Virtual Reality, Big Data, AI, and IoT.
It is your job to assign projects and ensure that the content team meets specific deadlines.
Other responsibilities of a Managing Editor include the following:
Editing and writing well-researched and sourced content in English
Editing and writing content that can generate leads
Hiring and training new writers for the content team
Managing a team of in-house content writers/freelancers
Supervising the content creation process (writing through editing and publishing)
Meeting with Project Managers, Sales, Marketing, Creative Team, and other involved teams to update on work progress
Creating a project calendar for all content and making sure everything gets published within the set deadlines
Responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in accordance with the content briefing templates, and categories, and making sure that the style and format of the content are consistent
Refining the current content briefing templates, categories, and content development process
Posting content to websites as needed
Requirements
An ideal Managing Editor has leadership and technical skills. The perfect candidate should have experience with writing and editing website content and must have experience working with a content team. Candidates must have experience with writing and editing inbound marketing blog articles and are familiar with keyword strategies and SEO. Important skills and qualifications for Managing Editors include the following:
Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in journalism, communications, writing, marketing, or similar
A proven track record of 3+ years of experience in journalism, writing, and editing website content
Fluency with English in writing and communicating is highly required
Experienced and knowledgeable in topics, including, but not limited to, digital media, technology, blockchain, metaverse, Virtual Reality, Big Data, AI, and IoT
Has a background and is comfortable in writing and editing content with a sales/marketing attitude
Must have:
Attention to details and familiar with the latest writing trends
Maintain a positive environment by motivating and communicating with the content team
