Job Description
Crisis Communications
To periodically review and assess the effectiveness of the Crisis Communications playbook and institute changes if necessary based on world's best PR practices and generally accepted trends.
To ensure the implementation of communication flow during crisis as indicated in the playbook.
To conceptualize, plan and facilitate trainings and workshops among key internal departments that will ensure the implementation and strict adherence to the crisis communications playbook.
To effectively manage brewing crisis or avert any potential full blown crisis by utilizing appropriate channels coupled with prompt response and solutions-based methodologies.
To coordinate with various departments action plans on complaints, issues and concerns among AirAsia guests.
To monitor social media sentiments that will damage the AirAsia brand image.
PR for Government
Ensures strong relationship with key government stakeholders through various PR initiatives (catch-ups, pocket meetings)
Initiate partnerships with key government agencies to strengthen AirAsia's presence.
AirAsia Regional Communications Group
Coordinates with Regional team for approval of Company Statements and other communication materials for dissemination.
Attends Regional Communications Group
Drafts statements and other communication materials in support of the role.
Administrative Functions
Assists Department Head in crafting annual budget plans for the Department.
Monitors flight sponsorships and
Drafts inter-departmental correspondence
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Communications and Public Affairs Head
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcast Communications, Marketing or any similar field
A Master's degree is an advantage but not required
At least 10 years of experience in media, public relations, corporate affairs
Vast network in government and attached agencies in the transportation sector
Experience working in a regional and integrated communications team advantageous
Experience working in an airline with high growth company and a fast-paced environment advantageous
A market leader mindset, creative and collaborative self-starter who can work independently, hands-on team player, and self-motivated
