About the Manila Angel Investors Network:
Founded in 2016, the Manila Angel Investors Network (MAIN) is the largest committed private investors network in the Philippines. MAIN was formed to support the country's startup ecosystem by connecting investors with promising early-stage companies. MAIN is the Philippines' representative of the ASEAN Angel Alliance.
As well as providing capital, MAIN mentors entrepreneurs, shares its expertise and opens its networks. Our members believe that fostering an innovative startup ecosystem will benefit both our members' portfolios and the Philippines' growth.

Context and Scope:
The Manager, Member Engagement and Events, is to be the leader of MAIN's member engagement and capacity building work, with responsibilities that extend from strategy through planning, management, and execution of member events.
MAIN is a not-for-profit whose funding comes entirely from its members. As such, the core of the role involves identifying, cultivating, engaging, and renewing members by producing high-quality, relevant member events which build strong relationships with these individuals.
It is a fast-paced job with considerable opportunities for growth. The role may evolve over time to include other responsibilities as MAIN develops other capacity building models in addition to membership development.
The right candidate will be an outstanding relationship manager able to connect authentically with many different kinds of people, including at the highest levels of business and government; an experienced project manager and team player; excited to be part of the future of the Philippines startup ecosystem.
The role will also support the Executive Director in (1) Promoting angel investing in the Philippines, (2) Increasing the size and relevance of the group, (3) Identifying startups suitable for angel funding and (4) building partnerships with aligned supporting organizations.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will: * Execute all event-related activities of MAIN, including but not limited to General Quarterly Membership Meetings, AngelsTalk Networking events, MAIN Academy training courses, Board & Committee Meetings, and AGMs. This will require the incumbent to work some evenings.
Ideate, plan, and execute events which promote the development of the angel investment community, such as through educational conferences, seminars, training workshops, mentorship sessions, and networking events.
Coordinate in-bound and out-bound Market-Entry Tours and Study Tours, in coordination with our partner angel groups throughout the ASEAN region and beyond.
Ensure that MAIN has the right tools and systems in place, and that these are implemented to support its events work and keep appropriate records.
Ensure that MAIN's events are produced to high standards, are loved by members, and are productive for the organisation.
Be a visible presence at MAIN events.
Assist in the identification of new ventures and investment opportunities by participating in:
meeting entrepreneurs presenting investment opportunities;
working with investment partners on opportunities;
the screening/filtering of investment opportunities and organization of Deal Screening Meetings;
providing well-researched analysis to inform member investment decisions;
the preparation and review of investment related documentation as required to support those investment decisions.
Monitoring and reporting on performance of MAINs investment portfolio as required.
Produce marketing and sales materials as required.
Manage and plan budgets to responsibly deploy the organizations' resources.
Prepare, collect, summarize, and provide financial reports as requested.
Attend, and participate in, external market development and eco-system activities as required.
Participate in internal and external meetings as required.
Provide general support to the Executive Director and perform such other duties as may be assigned.
During absences of the Executive Director, the position will lead the organisations activities, providing regular updates to MAIN's President, Executive Director and Board.,
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to champion the work of MAIN in both English and Filipino, and be comfortable with public speaking and facilitating group activities.
An ability to connect with stakeholders from many different backgrounds, including at the highest levels of business and government.
An entrepreneurial and innovative approach.
Energy, initiative, creativity, and drive to manage own work programme with minimal supervision.
Excellent task management and people management skills.
Completed a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Advanced degrees are advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years professional work experience, preferably in events management, investment management, professional services or in-house corporate development.
