Job Description
Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools;
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes;
Places conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pulls insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes;
Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer;
Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous; and
Provides preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
Skills and Competencies
Diploma or Vocational Course in Electric Technology
Must have at least 2 years of experience as an Electrician
Must have wide knowledge and ability in electric installation and repair;
Knowledge in different kinds of installation;
Must have wide knowledge in repairing electric circuits;
Must have knowledge in electrical devices;
Knowledge in connecting wires and plugs; and
Basic knowledge in reading blueprints.
