Responsible for the effective administration of plant equipment in order to extend useful life of assets to its optimum availability and obtain the maximum possible return of investments. Directly responsible for the management of the overall performance of the department and in providing full support specially to
production departments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Manages the personnel of the maintenance department who are engaged in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment in the plant by
performing the following:
a) Reviews maintenance plans and schedules to ensure that priorities are properly set;
b) Monitors the implementation of maintenance schedules and initiates action for the completion of such target;
c) Oversees work schedules of maintenance crew to check actual work output and quality.
d) Decides what machine parts need replacement for immediate or scheduled replacement;
e) Participates in the actual trouble-shooting of mechanical and electrical problems and makes decisions
on whether to cease or continue operations.
f) Coordinates with Buyer/Expediter to facilitate acquisition of much needed parts and supplies.
2) Works with Plant Engineer on commissioning of newly-acquired machinery which do not require a special
commissioning engineer to run said equipment.
3) Plans and implements an effective engineering and maintenance system for stock procurement, storage, inventory as well as replenishment of spare parts.
4) Plans for an effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs to keep machines up and running all the time.
5) Conducts ocular plant inspections on regular basis, checking on equipment functions.
6) Develops and implements plans and programs geared towards improving the operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
7) Approves Job Order Slips (Jos) to ensure that priorities are properly set, controlling maintenance cost at an acceptable level.
8) Responsible for the overall plant maintenance. Inspects plant equipment to assure
conformance with government regulations and other pertinent codes.
9) Attends manufacturing meetings to discuss progress and results of maintenance programs such as but
not limited to progress and completion of Job Orders, status of equipment repairs, as well as equipment
modification and other related maintenance activities and recommendations.
10) Prepares reports on Maintenance Cost Control System, Spare parts Inventory, Uptime, Preventive Maintenance and such other required reports.
11) Recommends, identifies, participates in the implementation of career development and training program for subordinates.
12) Reviews activities of all shifts for any mechanical/electrical problems encountered. Works with
Maintenance supervisors in planning and/or evaluating for continuous improvements.
13)Continuously supports the compliance of both DPI's Quality and Environment, Health and Safety Management System policies and procedures.
14) Performs other tasks as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
