What is this role?
Learning Experience (LX) Designers are the people who develop and test all learning experiences - bootcamps, classes, workshops, courses, and seminars - at Eskwelabs. LX Designers are a core part of the education chapter, working to create the materials, schedules, and curriculum for our instructors to use to facilitate smooth, well-choreographed classes.
If a learning experience at Eskwelabs were like a movie, think of the LX Designer as the screenwriter and creative director. The LX designer is responsible for imagining and proposing how the LX will go, and then producing the materials so that our instructors and mentors (our actors) and our operations teams (the on-set directors that handle production) are able to turn that imagined vision into a reality.

Learning experiences at Eskwelabs, such as learning bootcamps, workshops, and courses, are designed and curated by our design team, ensuring that we reach goals of academic outcome and pedagogical excellence, but also consider aspects of social, emotional, and personal development to ensure an unforgettable and treasured experience for our participants.
Our courses are "hand-crafted", meaning that designers have gone through and thought through every minute of the experience to make sure that it is meaningful to our learners. We draw on varied disciplines outside of education, including media storytelling, graphic design, product management, and the world of art in order to build learning experiences that can stand out, excite and engage learners, and build memories and connections for participants.
What will you do?
As an LX designer, you will combine design-thinking and education to carry out the following:
Research and develop user personas for our intended learners
Identify assumptions, create hypotheses, and build prototypes to validate hypotheses
Design curriculum, activity guides, learning materials, instructor scripts, and anything else required to create a fantastic, memorable, and effective learning experience for skills connected to the future of work
Teach or facilitate learning materials and curriculum with pilot cohorts and learners in order to test new learning experiences
Integrate user feedback and interviews to improve learning experiences
Support project management & operations teams to deploy your learning experiences and scale them to local and international audiences
Hone your own craft and skills by constantly updating your own knowledge about design, education, and future of work skills such as big data
What will you learn?
We do not expect LX designers to come in knowing everything - in fact, we will hire based primarily on your creativity, your ability to perform in a high-achieving team, and your enthusiasm to learn new things. As such, we expect that topics including data science & analytics, pedagogy, and even human-centered design might be topics that you might learn with us.
You will learn these topics and more on the job through the work you do, formally through learning experiences Eskwelabs provides to our employees, and informally from your colleagues. The LX design team is recruited to bring a diverse set of experiences - some members may be experts in data science & analytics, others may bring experience in user design & testing, and still others may be former artists or teachers.

Do I need previous data science experience?
Prior knowledge and skills in data science, data analytics, or business intelligence are not required, but they will greatly strengthen your candidacy. Skills in Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, and Microsoft Excel are strong assets, as are knowledge in statistics, forecasting, machine learning, or data storytelling.
Do I need previous education experience?
Prior experience as a teacher, professor, instructor or other education professional is not required, but will strengthen your candidacy. Formal training in pedagogy and learning design is a strong asset.
Do I need previous UX/UI/interaction design experience?
Prior experience in some form of design role is not required, but will strengthen your candidacy.
