Job Description The Position: Background Based on successful implementation of the Country Program 202019-2023, several initiatives led by UNFPA have successfully addressed the mental health, psychosocial support, and gender-based violence challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis. To ensure the sustainability of its impact, a consultant is sought to conduct a comprehensive sustainability assessment and support the CO in its way forward in implementation of its 9th Country Programme (2024-2028) based on the TOC developed. Objectives The primary objective of this consultancy is to evaluate and enhance the sustainability of GBV/GEWE initiatives launched by the CO during the CP8. The consultant will assess the current state of project initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable recommendations to fortify the long-term impact of the projects. The consultant will report to and be supervised by the Gender/GBV National Programme Officer. You Would Be Responsible For The consultant is expected to: Review project documentation, including reports, data, and relevant materials. Conduct stakeholder interviews with key project personnel, beneficiaries, and partner organisations to identify strengths, gaps and areas of improvement specific to gender/GBV-related interventions. Map existing interventions and services for GBV survivors and service-providers, and policies related to GBV/GEWE. Assess the quality, effectiveness and accessibility of facilities supported by UNFPA and stakeholders projects. Evaluate the localization of referral pathways and identify opportunities for refinement. Examine the effectiveness of training programs for service providers and recommend specialised enhancements. Support strategic partners in strengthening GBV-Management Information System to optimise data collection and reporting. Explore strategies for ongoing collaboration with grassroots organisations and implementing partners to mobilise community-based support. Extend support to the gender team and the Country Office within the goals of the 9CP, as needed. Deliverables Comprehensive assessment report outlining the current state of different UNFPA and stakeholders initiatives on GBV prevention and response. Actionable recommendations for enhancing sustainability initiatives. Innovations and improvements to the GBV-Management Information System. Detailed plan for ongoing collaboration with grassroots organizations. Support development and implementation of actionable recommendations for enhancing sustainability initiatives. Qualifications: The ideal consultant should possess: Extensive experience in project sustainability assessments, particularly in the field of mental health, psychosocial support, and gender-based violence. Strong analytical and research skills. Demonstrated understanding of international development, UN agencies, and public health initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
