This Instructional Designer/LMS Content Writer role involves writing training content and then transforming that content into cutting edge interactive e-learning modules. Successful candidates will be expected to research and review provided source material. Glean from that material important concepts. Then write original content to be used in e-learning training modules. Upon Subject Matter Expert (SME) validation of written content, the Instructional Designer will then use the company's e-learning template and other provided assets to assemble each training module.
Job Responsibilities:
Research and analyze technical documents including maintenance manuals, operation manuals, company procedures, engineering documents, etc. and write a well composed summation that is aligned to predefined topics.
Grasp complex technical information, divide it into smaller components, and explain it in plain language.
Write English compositions/scripts for voice narration that are clear, informative and grammatically correct.
Create basic charts, graphs, and tables to display and explain technical data as required.
Use graphic design tools (such as Photoshop) to crop, resize, make photo corrections, or create simple yet professional graphics.
Utilize company e-learning template to create engaging and interactive e-learning modules by incorporating graphics, text, audio, video and/or animation.
Develop and/or assemble interactive scenarios, learning games, quizzes, and systems simulations.
Adhere to established timelines, file structures, naming conventions, and other company protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Journalism or related field (a degree in Electrical Engineering or knowledge in the field a plus).
Proven technical writing and instructional design skills (ability to provide portfolio and/or writing samples)
Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience in Technical writing/Content Creation and Instructional Design
Ability to understand complex mathematical equations, electrical engineering concepts, and electrical schematics (single line, three line), parts diagram and mechanical drawings.
Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe PDF.
Comprehensive knowledge in Instructional design, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Creative Suite
Advance Commercial Video/Marketing Skills
Ability to complete thorough accurate work and produce high-quality results.
Ability to manage time effectively to meet aggressive project timelines.
Must have the required authoring tools to complete work
Dependable graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Work from home set up until further notice
Open to 6 months project
Amenable to work on Night Shift
