What the role is about
We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our growing engineering team in our Manila and NYC office. As a Linux System Administrator, you will design, implement, and maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network for our call centers around the world. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all servers and infrastructure in order to ensure smooth operation.

Wonders Corporation is currently seeking energetic, team oriented system administrators to join and contribute to our current and future applications. The right candidate is a top-notch contributor who has a proven track record of maintaining infrastructure and should be comfortable in a start-up atmosphere. The candidate has experience doing server configurations and new installations of software.
What will be your responsibilities:
Organization-wide deployment of reliable Linux server installation and system configuration.
Perform routine system maintenance and troubleshoot server-side issues as they arise. Review error logs, seek solutions and work directly with the system's source code to make necessary changes to ensure reliable performance.
Conduct daily, weekly or more frequent system backups depending on system space and business needs.
Monitor system performance and deploy solutions to prevent slowdowns, potential issues and recurring problems . This includes analysis of daily traffic, server performance metrics and end user reports.
Provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators. Work closely with other engineers to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server-side performance.
Maintain system security by actively identifying faults and vulnerable areas within the system's architecture.
Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues reported by end user
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Define system policies and procedures
Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain the agreed SLA
Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
Requirements
What you must possess:
Able to work on night shift
At Least 3 years of proven hands-on experience in a system administrator role
Hands-on experience in Linux/UNIX operating systems: Ubuntu (Preferred), Fedora, Debian
Proficient with Shell, Bash and/or Python scripting
Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP, SSH
Solid understanding of different Amazon AWS services ( EC2, RDS, Route53, etc)
Familiarity with different Web Server Technologies (Apache, Nginx)
Experience with Configuration management tools such as Ansible
Hands-on experience with monitoring, system diagnostic and system analytics tools
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
Self-learner, independent, and have outstanding problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering or related field
