Requirements and skills
You will be required to work our Eastern Standard Time Hours 9 AM - 5 PM.
This will be a 40-hour per work Full-time Role
MUST be able to speak and communicate effectively in ENGLISH.
You will be required to have high-speed internet access. You must have live audio and video access for virtual office interaction hence you must be logged in live via video from 9 AM - 5 PM EST.
This position reports to the Practice Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary responsibilities will be to answer all incoming calls to our health care organization call center.
1. Demonstrates competency in knowledge and skills of Telemedicine Nurse and coordinator roles: answer and direct all incoming calls as needed
Evaluates the appropriateness of referrals and provide feedback to physicians
Establishes contact with patient/proxy. Assesses willingness, and ability to use Telemedicine
Evaluates patient and family for social needs and make appropriate referrals to community resources.
2. Provides Hub site with relevant information:
Follows and expedites referral process
Informs PMD and patient/proxy of referral source
3. Coordinates appointment time with UCD, the primary physician, patient, and clinic schedules
4. Facilitates equipment set-up and indicated quality control activities in preparation for an appointment: Obtains additional pertinent patient information at the time of appointment.
5. Develops forms and questionnaires to facilitate the exchange of information
6. Provides follow-up:
Sees that requested lab/tests are ordered, and results are sent to a specialist
Schedules follow-up appointments
7. Informs and updates physicians and staff of services available through Telemedicine
8. Encourages the use of the video-conferencing equipment for other than specialty consults
Provides equipment set up, distribution of materials to attendees, returns of forms to a hub site, and maintains records for CME classes
Provides site coordination of community service programs available from the hub site
