Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Librarian, the Library Clerk II performs routine library-related duties such as locating, searching, collecting, sorting, and shelving of library resources; and printing and scanning services.
Library Clerk II also provides support to the library users by responding to inquiries and requests, and referring to librarian for professional assistance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Collection Maintenance
Shelves and ensures that print library materials are arranged according to the classification system
Shelf-reads library materials to ensure correct location and to check damaged items
Assists in inventory of library materials
Records, collates, and maintains statistical reports related to users' statistics such as printing services, circulation services, etc.
Receives, checks, sorts, verifies and process newly acquired print library materials
Prepares list and infographics for newly acquired materials
Patron Support
Assists library patrons in locating materials in the library
Attends to inquiries and requests of library users
Supports the check-out/check-in, hold, renewals and recalls, and search requests of library materials
Attends to Google Remote Desktop access of statistical software installed in the library computers
Retrieves print materials in the Reserve section requested by library users
Retrieves full text of articles, scans copies of print books and provides other A/V materials requested by library users
Ensures compliance of patrons with library regulations
Management Support
Prepares data and drafts reports required by the Librarian such as use of discussion room, library reading area, reserve books, etc. and prepares income reports for printing, scanning and CD burning.
Records, collates, and maintains statistical data on the assigned area of responsibility.
Prepares infographics for featured books (based on module schedule roll out)
Assists the Librarian in maintaining the digital collection of student academic output
Assists in organizing digital copies of PH Papers
Assists in encoding bibliographic data in HERDIN
Performs other tasks that may be assigned.
Graduate of a Four-Year course, preferably IT or Business-relate
At least two-years working experience (preferably in an academic setting)
Needs minimal supervision
Proficient in oral and written communication
Proficient in MS Office and Google applications
Basic knowledge in Photoshop and Canva application
Able to multi-task
Has working knowledge of library operations, standards, and fine system
Must be able to perform computer related work and use library related software management system
With skills in critical thinking and problem solving
Attentive to details
Has working knowledge in the use of library equipment such as computer terminal, sensitizer/desensitizer, and barcode scanner.
Can work well with a team
Entry Level / Junior, Apprentice Administration and Coordination Higher Education / Academia 1 opening Bachelor's degree graduate
