Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Section Head, the Librarian of the Circulation Section assists in the overall day-to-day operations of the Section, performing professional library functions. The Librarian organizes library resources in the section through indexing and inventory.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Library User/Client Support
Attends to in-depth queries/reference questions, and when necessary, coordinates with other Rizal Library sections
Provides informational instructions to library users regarding the use of Section resources
Conducts library orientation and guided tours of the Section and of Rizal Library
Facilitates check-out/check-in, hold, renewals and recalls, and searches requests of library materials, whenever necessary
Assists in managing the Inter and Intra Library Loan (ILL)
2. Collection Development and Maintenance
Recommends, and evaluates, collections (potential and existing) to be acquired, de-selected, repaired, preserved, and/or digitized
Manages the Section library resources
Indexes, and assigns subject heading to indexed articles from journals under Gifts and Exchange Publication Program of Rizal Library
Performs inventory of Circulation materials in the General Circulation, Foreign Serials, and Graduate-Faculty / Reserve Study areas, ensuring electronic and print resources are updated and accessible
Updates and maintains lists/records of library resources in the Section
3. Section Management
Assists in overseeing the physical upkeep of the General Circulation, Foreign Serials, and Graduate-Faculty/Reserve areas, ensuring conduciveness to learning and research
Provides data input for budget and annual reports, and suggests Section needs to be included in budget appropriations
Prepares and submits statistical data and report, as required by the Section Head
Monitors data gathering and compiling of records to be used for various reports
Assists the Section Head in orienting and training newly-hired personnel of the Circulation Section
4. Performs other tasks that may be assigned

Bachelor's degree in Library Science (BLS)/ Library and Information Science (BLIS) / AB/BS (Library Science major) or any four (4) year course and a Master's degree in Library Science
