This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with outstanding legal skills and an adventurous attitude to join ZALORA's regional legal team in the Philippines. Located in MCX Muntinlupa City (with a flexible work arrangement), you will report directly to the ZALORA Regional Legal Counsel (Director) based in Singapore. With a high degree of autonomy, you will be responsible for providing legal advice across the full range of legal matters affecting ZALORA's business in the Philippines. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking to grow and gain experience in the burgeoning fashion e-commerce industry.
Responsibilities:
Providing clear and pragmatic, and commercially-minded legal advice to senior management and other business stakeholders on all legal issues affecting our main catalogue, marketplace, private label, pre-loved, and other business ventures and business support functions (including HR, IT, Procurement, Admin, Finance, etc.)
Supporting management of the Board of Directors
Contract drafting, negotiation and management for our full suite of contracts, including: purchasing agreements, marketing agreements, manufacturing agreements, logistics agreements, licensing agreements, employment agreements, production service agreements, online terms and conditions, and non-disclosure agreements
Providing legal support on a broad range of regulatory and compliance processes, such as data protection, competition, anti-corruption, and other laws and regulations
Planning, execution and management of PH Legal OKRs and key results to support the strategic objectives of the organization
Advising on and assisting with the management of the Company's intellectual property portfolio across the region, including advising on the effective protection of that portfolio
Supporting the development and launch of key compliance initiatives, including the development and delivery of training programs within the business
Advising on and assisting with the management of the Company's corporate legal requirements
Managing all aspects of resolution of disputes, litigation and regulatory matters affecting the business
Management of external counsel (as required), with a focus on obtaining cost effective, high quality, pragmatic and timely advice, on time and within budget
Building and establishing relationships with key government agencies and industry groups; representing and advocating the company's policy positions on issues of importance to the business.
Handling of data protection activities and issues for Zalora PH
Sensing of legal developments and trends
Requirements:
Law Degree (JD or LLB) with top class results
6 - 9 years' experience in top tier law firm or large multi-national company
Extensive legal experience in some or all of the following areas highly preferred: corporate, commercial contracts, technology, e-commerce, logistics and compliance
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. In particular, the ability to break down complex legal issues and define problems, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations and draw conclusions in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to work independently and apply a high level of discretion
Experience in partnering with business leaders working in a high-tech, fast paced business environment is required; comfortable working in a company experiencing rapid growth
Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results, and to work with a diverse internal stakeholder base
Proven track record in project management roll out and processes definition and implementation, with excellent organizational skills
Team player with a strong sense of ownership
Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning/project management and presentation skills, with superior attention to detail
