The key function of the role is to support the development, implementation and delivery of Valiant's company-wide learning and development strategy. To be successful, on a day-to-day basis, you will be working with subject matter experts to scope and develop course materials and assessment tools for various learning programs. You may also be involved in the delivery of courses through suitable methodologies, such as individual coaching, classroom training and digital. You will also assist in evaluating employees' learning performance and related improvements.
We are looking for a professional Instructional Designer to design and develop learning and practicing experiences. The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner.
Responsibilities
Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience's training needs
State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
Maintain project documentation and course folders
Requirements
Further requirements include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the L&D Manager, Subject Matter Experts and other key stakeholders to produce learning materials such as facilitator guides, job aids, presentation packs, process guides, quick reference guides, assessment tools, video content, eLearning etc. using an instructional design approach.Conduct training needs analysis to help align content to business capabilities and needs.
Apply suitable learning principles, theories and methodologies to develop effective learning courses. Drive behaviour change through influential learning solutions
Continuously update and improve the quality of learning through ongoing interactions.
Management and ongoing governance of content on MyTrailhead, Valiant's learning experience platform.
Contribute to the management and maintenance of learning records.
Keep up to date with industry information, legislation & events, as well as current learning and development practices.
Academic or trade qualifications
Required skills include:
Experience using multimedia authoring software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere, screen capture software such as Loom, and eLearning authoring software such as Articulate Rise 360
LMS / LXP administration experience. Experience with Salesforce MyTrailhead desirable, but not essential.
High level attention to detail & accuracy.
Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form including small and large groups, workshops and training sessions.
Demonstrate an ability to grasp technical content.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong ability to deliver to deadlines and work under pressure.
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
