About the Role
You are a passionate visual designer who also enjoys all aspects of managing projects and teams. You have years of experience and are able to create a brand's design language from scratch. But having a keen sense of design doesn't keep you from thinking holistically. Since you will regularly collaborate with information architects and prototypers in an interdisciplinary team, you must feel confident in other disciplines as well. As a Lead UI Designer, you are responsible for projects and teams of various types, forms and sizes - always having budget-time-quality in sight. You are convincing when dealing with clients and guide other designers and teams. Coordinating multiple projects in parallel is a welcome challenge in your book and you enjoy interacting with a wide range of co-workers and clients. You help define internal standards and verify overall design quality. Your mindset is strategic and you have the big picture in mind. You report directly to the design director or creative director.

Lead and mentor other designers (up to senior level)
Create high-quality user experience designs for various platforms
Collaborate with information architects on overarching UX concepts
Apply your design expertise to help develop prototypes
Create and design presentations that are future-oriented
Convince in client presentations and discussions
Support and improve internal processes, methods and workflows
Exemplify exceptionally high-quality standards
Enjoy national and international travel
Actively contribute to our company culture, mutual exchanges and inspiration
Have a comprehensive understanding of projects beyond the scope of visual design
Contribute to our holistic innovation design practice for icon impact USA focusing on stellar UI design (visual design)
Create and design new experiences or design themes that evolve and define visual systems
Combine strong UI design skills with a UX mindset
Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into brand-specific, stunning digital design solutions based on data, trends, and industry best practices.
Provide design leadership for all our clients with highest quality design recommendations and executions, from ideation to final delivery
Visualize early concepts and ideas to showcase potential future solutions across all digital touchpoints, applying your experience across different industries
Support with designing awesome pitch decks and presentations
Be comfortable and enjoy trying out new tools, methods and approaches... enjoy
Qualifications
Qualifications:
6+ years professional experience as a Lead Designer (UI, digital or similar) prototyping and designing digital products from ideation to implementation in a innovation consultancy, creative agency or digital design studio.
Proven expertise - a mix of UI and UX skill sets, but strong branding skills are a plus
Strong expertise in visual design and communications design, creating and working in design systems for all kinds of digital touchpoints
Knowledge of consumer research, usability testing, design thinking, and UX methodologies.
Deep understanding of the latest design, emerging technologies and business trends to apply in intuitive UI design.
Experience in working in international projects and cross- functional teams
Ideally experience in the automotive industry
Extensive experience designing for various platforms
Digital native who is familiar with and helps drive the latest design trends
Analytical and strategic mindset
Structured and tactical way of working on multiple projects in parallel
Good knowledge of current design advances and standards
Experience with the latest tools and methodologies
Familiarity with prototyping tools, usability testing or user research is a big plus
Comfortable dealing with clients
Please note that we will consider long-term remote work or a hybrid schedule for this position. Also note that we are primarily working remotely. However, a few team members come to the office at least twice a week. We hope to be predominantly on-site again sometime in 2022, but because the safety and well-being of our employees are a priority, logistics are flexible for now.
