Overview
DreamHost is looking for a Software Developer III to support our platform growth and technical transformation. You'll drive projects to directly impact our customers' experience and website success, as well as continue the modernization of our technical stack. This role is open to both front-end and back-end developers, as we're looking to expand our newer React applications powered by both Typescript and Python microservices. For over 25+ years, DreamHost has been empowering customers to build an online presence with our platform, and we're looking to continue our growth by bringing an even more data-driven and personalized customer experience.
Responsibilities
Develop architecture for new projects and initiatives that satisfy business requirements like customer experience, scalability, maintainability, and application performance
Design, code, test, and debug production-level software
Ensure tasks are sufficiently defined and decomposed for developers to work on
Act as a thought leader towards coding and other technical best practices across the organization
Lead and assist peers and teammates
Troubleshoot and fix bugs
Be an active participant in planning, standup, and retrospective meetings
Collaborate on cross-functional project teams to solve customer problems
Requirements
BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant field preferred
4+ years of experience working with complex, scalable, and secure web applications
Strong experience in multiple languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Perl, Python)
Strong experience with object-oriented programming
Strong experience with Git platforms and workflows
Working experience in a scrum/agile environment
Working experience with SQL
Working experience with microservice architecture
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
