Lead the design, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of Upgrade's data management systems.
Lead the development of standards and procedures to maximize DBMS performance, scale-ability, resilience, security, and data integrity.
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields.
5+ years of experience administering production, always-on, high throughput, OLTP RDBMS's with the last 3+ years administering Oracle/MySQL databases.
Proficient in Oracle 11g+ / MySQL 5.5+ database servers running on-premise data center environments.
Proficient in Oracle/MySQL backup & recovery, upgrade, patching, and performance tuning.
Advanced knowledge of SQL query execution, execution analysis & optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning etc.
Advanced knowledge of SQL schema modeling and evolution.
Proficienct in various RDBMS replication strategies.
Experience with Oracle RAC or MySQL geo-redundant database is a plus.
Solid Linux fundamentals including kernel and OS tuning, as they relate to DB performance and security.
Familiar with Data Privacy Act, PCI DSS, and other security practices is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience with other database management systems is a plus.
AWS Certified Database Specialty will be an advantage
OCP/OCA Database 11g/12c Administrator cert holder will be an advantage
OCP/OCA MySQL 5.6/5.7 Administrator cert holder will be an advantage
