Oversees workflow process, throughput optimization and staff productivity for all laboratory
operations;
Manages employee selection process;
Responsible for personnel management, providing all employees with guidance and support;
Participates with Supervisors to optimize shift staffing, supervision, training, workflow analysis and performance management;
Ensures that all laboratory personnel are trained to perform procedures and their competency has been documented;
Provide Weekly reporting to the Management regarding the day-to-day specimen count, technical concerns and operations support;
Provides guidance to solve procedural and technical problems with laboratory team and ensures documentation of corrective action within guidelines;
Review's quality control performance, documentation of troubleshooting and performance improvements for molecular and serological assays;
Ensures that instrumentation and equipment are maintained and preventive maintenance is documented appropriately.
Ensures compliance with government health regulations regarding all employees and visitors, laboratory quality requirements, and standards for incoming specimens;
Coordinates with other department managers in supporting the day-to-day operation needs and concerns;
Lead and oversee the audit, accreditation and renewal of the laboratory;
Audits signout process and accuracy of patient and DOH reports;
Recommends workflow enhancement and cost saving strategies.
Five years' experience in managing clinical laboratory operations
Proven leadership skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, successful coaching and team-building, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient with laboratory information systems, word processing and spreadsheets
Familiar with Quality Management Systems and their requirements for training and documentation.
Experience with sterile technique and molecular biology is highly desirable
Experience with automated serology analyzers desirable
Bachelor's degree in medical technology from an accredited institution.
Registered in Professional Regulation Commission for Medical Technologist
