JOB DESCRIPTION
Conducts waste characterization of incoming waste samples
Conducts jar test of incoming wastewater samples
Verifies report given by Wastewater Leadman for values of pH after each process
Consolidates with Operations Head the conclusion and recommendation of each experiment report before submitting report to management
Assist in the estimate of operational cost with Operations Head for treatment proposal of wastes according to result of experiment
Submits monthly wastewater sample to CRL environmental laboratory for wastewater effluent quality monitoring
Submits other samples of wastes to CRL for needed tests such as TCLP for solidified materials
Conducts monthly inventory update of laboratory apparatus, chemicals, PPEs used in the laboratory, and chemicals stored in the laboratory
Conducts experiments of possible treatment process for different types of wastes as part of Research and Development Team
Accomplishes reports and forms used in the laboratory as per IMS Procedure Manual OPN 002 and OPN 003
Receives waste samples from Materials Inventory Department and CLIC Account Executives for experiment
Responsible for the execution of Laboratory Waste Management System
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory
Submits to management experiment report, estimated operational cost, and PFD of waste treatment process based on conducted experiment
Responsible for monitoring and verification of equipment used in the laboratory
Makes purchase request to Purchasing Department for materials needed in the laboratory such as chemicals used in the laboratory and PPEs used by laboratory personnel
Disseminate to Wastewater Leadman the quantity of chemicals needed to be added to wastewater during chemical treatment
Verifies quantity and composition of prepared chemicals during chemical preparation for wastewater treatment
Assists Operation Head in reviewing and researching different treatment process for different types of wastes
Conducts regular updates of ISO forms applicable to the laboratory such as risk register and environmental impact aspect assessment
Keeps records of experiments, activities and up to date file
Upholds Good Laboratory Practices
Performs other tasks as the Dept. Head or Management assigned of him/her
 
 
JOB QUALIFICATION
Graduate of BS Chemical Engineering, BS Chemistry
Professional License is preferred but not a must
Experience in Environmental Engineering Laboratory is an advantage but not necessary
Has knowledge on basic unit operations processes is an advantage
Has knowledge on existing environmental laws regarding air, soil, and water is an advantage
Has knowledge on the use of Word Office Tools such as excel and word
Can interact with other personnel in the organization
Possesses basic laboratory knowledge and skills
Knows basic laboratory practice
