Job Description
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant with a passion to learn and grow, to join our Manila team. You will work alongside a supportive team where you will have an abundance of exposure across financial and management accounting within a global organization. This is a true development role with an array of career pathways to choose from!
This is a base-level accounting role where you will support the finance team by completing transactional processing and reconciliation tasks for the Financial Accounting team and be invaluable in supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis team in terms of internal reporting and information provision to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial data of the client company's entities, including month-end reports, trade creditor and debtor reports, analysis of financial data to identify financial performance, variances, and trends.
Prepare Audited Financial Statement and coordinate timely completion of annual audit.
Prepare Tax calculations, Fringe Benefit tax workings/analysis and Business Activity Statements.
Prepare Bank Reconciliation and Cash Flows.
Identify process improvement opportunities.
Maintain a high focus on quality control and integrity of the General ledger and management reporting systems.
Manage a generic email/mailbox.
Actively participate in the projects of the team.
Maintain open communication and collaboration with the Sydney financial reporting team.
Engagement with internal and external customers/stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate of BS Accountancy / BS Financial Management, preferably CPA.
With at least 1-2 years of experience in Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, preferably with exposure in Insurance industry or in a BPO/Shared service environment.
Knowledgeable in MS Excel (able to understand and utilize complex formulae, pivot, etc.).
High level of quality control and attention to detail.
Able to manage information and requests from a variety of sources while maintaining version control and appropriate documentation/filing system.
Strong analytical and communication (written and verbal) English Language skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Able to adapt quickly and be flexible to change in the workplace.
