JAVA DeveloperConnectOS

The tech stack you will be working with includes:
● Java 1.8 - with the view to move to version 12+
● Spring framework, Hibernate ORM, & web services framework
● Angular 8.2
● Cloud - their application is currently running on AWS and they are looking to utilise more of the components such as Lambda, Aurora, Elastic Cache
● Database - they are currently using MySQL running in AWS RDS but they are migrating this to AWS Aurora in the next 3-4 months period.
● Serverless architecture
● Testing - They follow TDD methodology using JUnit
This role is going to be instrumental in fulfilling the company's growth plans and delivering to key projects.
The key components to make up your role include:
● Build reusable code and libraries for future use
● Assist in estimating the level of effort required to implement a solution
● Identify, document and communicate risks and issues that can impact the project scope, schedule and/or budget.
● Optimise existing applications for performance and scalability
● Define test criteria for all software units against their requirements
● Produce software units in accordance with the software design and project standards
● Establish consistency and traceability between software units and requirements and design
● You'll be involved in solving performance problems and also get exposure to architectural challenges
● You'll work on the integration of data storage solutions, large volume of data processing and integration to other systems
Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of products, technology, process and team development
Requirements
About you
You have 3-4 years of Java development experience - Spring, Hibernate, Webservices and API development
You have experience with automated testing (JUnit)
You have a growth mindset - it's all about your attitude
You have great communication skills, a positive 'can do' attitude and a team-oriented mindset
Exposure to cloud services (AWS) would be preferable but not mandatory
Bonus points if you have experience with serverless architecture
Open to learning other languages and frameworks that support our technical direction
