IT Business Analyst
At Manulife, data is a critical strategic focus. Delivering the right solutions to ensure all levels of management are making data-driven decisions is critical to Manulife's success. Sound data governance sets the foundation to ensure these solutions meet the business and analytical needs.
Data Governance (Asia) is charged with:
Data governance framework within Asia
Data quality and access oversight
Governance reporting and transparency
This role will support the duties, as mentioned below.
Data Quality Program
Support implementation of the Data Quality Program
Introduce data quality tools and automation
Critical Data Elements
Work with Global Data Office to adapt/ adopt frameworks to identify critical data elements through quantitative/ qualitative methods, and gain acceptance from data producers, data consumers and other communities
Devise processes to manage upkeep of critical data elements and monitor their health
Metadata Management
Work with Global Data Office to adapt/ adopt frameworks for progressing the agenda for FY23 and beyond
Collaborate with stakeholders and Microsoft for using Purview as the unified tool for metadata management
Data Ownership and Sharing
Support implementation of the Data Sharing Request 3.0
Monitor and triage related scenarios to ensure that data ownership and other data visa requirements are fully met before actual data consumption occurs
Data Lineage
Work with Global Data Office and the data owners to establish data lineage for critical data assets
Continue to keep the data lineage relevant to support tangible business outcomes

What we are looking for
10+ years of progressive responsibility and accountability in one or more of the following:
Data governance
Data analytics
Development and implementation of organization-wide data policies and processes
Experience in Big Data is an asset
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Advanced knowledge in MS Excel features such as pivot tables, pivot charts, filters, and functions
Concepts of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). Other database technologies are an advantage.
Hands on experience in one or more of the following disciplines is an advantage:
Data architecture
Master Data Management
Data warehouse and development
Proficiency in DMBOK (Data Management Book of Knowledge) concepts and its applications
Experience in any one or more of the following tools: Collibra Governance Centre, Informatica Axon, Ataccama One, Apache Atlas, Talend, IBM Data Governance, Alteryx, Alation, SAP Business Objects, Precisely, Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog.
