The IT Asset Business Analyst will be responsible for proactively enforcing governance for software assets as well as coordinating regular audits and follow up on reconciliation activities. Position Overview The IT Asset Business Analyst will be responsible for proactively enforcing governance for software assets as well as coordinating regular audits and follow up on reconciliation activities. The focus will be on the asset management lifecycle and will also include maximizing the value of IT asset investment, analyzing software asset data, conducting root cause analysis on incompliance, executing corrective actions, identifying and implementing process improvements. The analyst will build Analytics and Dashboards to automate regular reporting and asset monitoring activities. The analyst will also provide support and assistance to other team members for complex IT software requests and projects. Responsibilities: Manage software assets through their lifecycle steps. Conduct asset tracking as well as coordinate internal audits and follow-up / clean-up activities as required. Provide effective process governance to ensure that Asset Management processes and procedures are effectively being adhered to by internal team as well as service partner teams. Participate in the evaluation of products, services offerings and contracts as well as supervising day to day interactions with vendors to meet business needs. Obtain information and clarification on issues concerning licensing, product changes, costing and invoicing and communicate and facilitate any such changes. Update asset inventories & tools and track orders for billing & chargeback purposes. General tracking of software license entitlements & evidence based on software orders. Conduct data cleanup, evergreening/decommissioning activities as required Actively participate to create and maintain standard operating procedures, processes, guidelines and documentation for all related Asset Management processes. Identify process improvements and optimisation strategies and participate in the implementation of these process improvements. Provide assistance and expertise while working closely with internal or external team members on related project work Required competencies: Bachelor's degree- Business, Computer Sciences or Engineering or equivalent experience 4 years experience working in software asset management, IT/Cloud infrastructure or equivalent experience Experience working with users from a Customer Service perspective Good working knowledge and understanding of software licensing with major vendors Good interpersonal and communication skills Result Oriented with Strong Planning & Organizational Skills Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Bilingual Experience with SAM tool configuration is an asset Software asset management certification is an asset
