IP Core Network Administrator will be primarily responsible in capacity planning, design, expansion and implementation to meet the Internet and Video business requirements of the Company. He or She shall research, evaluate, test, and deploy all network hardware upgrades to the IP core infrastructure and ensure network redundancy, diversity and disaster recovery plans are in place and are being tested to work.
Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering
IP Core Systems capacity planning, design, expansion and implementation to meet the Internet and Video business requirements of the Company.
Conducts feasibility studies and recommends systems, timelines, equipment and cost requirements.
Research, evaluate, test, and deploy all network hardware upgrades to the IP core infrastructure.
Ensure network redundancy, diversity and disaster recovery plans are in place and are being tested to work.
Manage network expansion and roll-out projects; including change/maintenance activities.
Systems and Network Administration
Perform Server, CDN and Cloud network deployment, repair, updates, upgrades, file backups, and restore.
Perform installation, updates, upgrades, patching, tuning, and troubleshooting of Linux operating system.
Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot application software, including Linux, Apache, PHP, Perl, Mysql, SNMP, DHCP, TFTP, TOD, DNS, Squid Proxy, Cacti, IPTables, Linux Traffic Control, etc.
Systems Security
Creating user-profiles and accounts.
Administer services with secure links, anti-virus, user authentication and intrusion detection
Provide monitoring and event logs for security incidents and violations related to information technology, and identify and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Systems Optimization
Review system performance statistics; perform system modifications and fixes.
Writes or modifies basic scripts to resolve performance issues and automate systems administration tasks.
Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
Tier-3 Level Technical Escalation concerning data systems and value-added services across the organization
Technical Documentation
Back-up systems configuration, update system diagrams and document the necessary changes.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Document Systems related policies and procedures including security.
Endorse the documentation to IP Support as a reference for troubleshooting and provide proper cascade and training.
A Bachelor's Degree holder in Engineering and must be a Licensed Engineer and with professional-level industry certification
With at least 3 years of technical work experience in large network and data center environments
With Tier-2 level support experience in Telco/ISP
Solid understanding of Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing concepts (OSI LAYER, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QOS, IPv6, MetroE, OTN) and with hands on experience in Cisco, Juniper and Adva platforms.
Have handled medium to large scale projects Solid knowledge in IP Network Design Concepts and Principles.
Solid knowledge in IP Network Virtualization, Optimization and Automation.
Solid knowledge in IP Multicast.
Solid knowledge in System Administration and Troubleshooting With a valid driver's license.
