POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Inventory Accountant is responsible for tracking and managing the company's inventory. The Inventory Accountant will work with other members of the accounting team, stockroom and commissary to ensure that inventory levels are accurate, that inventory is properly accounted for, and that inventory costs are minimized.
Duties and Responsibilities
1) Inventory Management - Tracking and managing inventory, conducting physical counts, and reconciling records to counts
2) Inventory accuracy - Ensuring inventory levels are accurate and identifying and correcting errors
3) Inventory reporting- Preparing reports and recommendations, and ensuring inventory is recorded and reported correctly and on time
4) Inventory costing- Maintaining standard costs for inventory, coordinating costing updates, and ensuring production costs are properly taken into account
5) Manage inventory replenishment - Place inventory orders, track deliveries, and allocate inventory to the right units
6) Inventory transactions- Verifying inventory transactions are reported to the correct accounts, enter inventory transactions, if necessary and reviewing reports for negative quantities
7) Inventory reconciliation- Assisting with standardizing and centralizing inventory reconciliation processes and controls
8) Purchasing orders- Managing purchasing orders for incoming items, services and supplies
9) Inventory variances - Reviewing inventory discrepancies, identify and resolve inventory issues and submit reports to Management
10) Make Recommendations - Use data analysis to make recommendations for improving inventory management, process changes or system enhancements based on findings
11) Collaborate with others - Work with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, sales, commissary and sales to develop strategies
 
REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS:
- College level
- Work experience in a similar role, minimum 2 year experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to delegate
- With attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Strong organizational skills to give them direction
