The Accountant will take ownership of the payroll, timekeeping, and end-to-end general accounting and bookkeeping function, from processing to balancing and reconciliation of accounting records and statements.
The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of Philippine and Australian Accounting Standards, Auditing, and Admin procedures and will be an asset to the Accounting team. The individual shall be an excellent team player; very keen on details, love working within a busy environment and possess a high level of integrity, sense of urgency, and flexibility.
-Perform end-to-end general accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
-Bookkeeping and preparation of payroll tax (Philippine Taxation Office Compliances)
-Prepare billing invoices for clients and follow-ups for collections
-Keep the system updated and maintain proper documentation for all transactions
-Prepare summary of billings and payments, liquidations, breakdown of fees, as requested by clients
-Maintain and observe absolute confidentiality of all company's transactions, records, and documents
-Check figures, postings, invoices, and other documents to ensure that they are accurate, properly coded, and contains appropriate authorization for payment
-Prepare petty cash replenishment report, proper designation of accounts and maintains petty cash fund
-Prepare and process payment due to suppliers/vendors for the purchases; operational expenses - rental, condo dues, parking, power & light, communications, etc.; reimbursements for out of pocket expenses and other expenditures
-Record transactions and maintain books of accounts
-Payroll preparation and disbursement
-Prepare vouchers and check payments
-Prepare monthly financial reports including but not limited to financial statements, cash flow statements, aging of receivables/payables and other financial schedules
-Prepare timely payments, periodic reports, and remittances to government agencies (ITR, VAT, Compensation Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax, SSS/HDMF/PHIC Contributions & Loans, Permits & Licenses etc.)
-Assist and address payroll and accounting-related inquiries and concerns
-Perform other ad hoc tasks as necessary
Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field
-At least 7+ years' experience as General Accountant or equivalent in a Philippines based Company is required
-At least 7+ years' experience as General Accountant or equivalent in Australian BPO industry is a plus
-Well-versed in PH accounting, taxation, and payroll preparation
-Extensive experience in Philippine Taxation Office Compliances
-Experience in both PH and AU accounting is a great advantage
-Expertise in end-to-end Accounts payable and receivable function
-Knowledgeable in basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
-Knowledge in any accounting software, including Xero and/or Salarium is an advantage
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Keen attention to details and has great problem solving, and organizational skills
-Team player and possess great interpersonal skills
-Excellent written and verbal English business communication skills
-Flexible, and has high sense of urgency, responsibility, and integrity
