Responsibilities:
Verifies and reviews details (both sending and receiving) of intercompany transactions and requests.
Maintains intercompany counterparty relationships within Workday platform including setup of new relationships as directed.
Determines appropriate Intercompany accounting details (e.g. GL accounts, cost objects, transaction type, tax code, etc.), when required in consultation with sending and receiving finance team as necessary.
Manages processing of Intercompany entries on both sides for cross-company enabled locations and to one location if not cross-company enabled.
Works with appropriate accounting contact persons for regular Intercompany transactions to ensure these managed through the Workday intercompany process (e.g. monthly SSC cost and recharges, marketing charges, fees & commissions, loans,regional allocations, interest and dividend related transactions).
Monitors pending Intercompany requests (either Sending or Receiving) and provides status updates to parties who will need to action such requests.
Prepares accruals for recurring transactions where needed (e.g. goods in transit and cash in transit)
Ensures timely expense recognition (on both sides) for year-end Intercompany related accruals.
Reconciles the netting receivable and payable balance by verifying discrepancies, and proposing solutions for reconciling items and actioning these items.
Prepares and post enters corrections where needed to complete the identified reconciling items (bank charges, forex difference, cash pool transactions).
Performs preliminary and final Intercompany reconciliations globally.
Resolves intercompany reconciling items within month-end reporting timelines.
Secures approval from the site finance heads and approvers for the issuance of credit/debit note to offset, approval of variance to pay etc.
Qualifications:
Relevant Accounting qualification required and/or part way through studying CPA or CA qualification
Technical knowledge of financial systems and processes.
Experience in a global Shared Services organization in a commercial environment is a definite advantage.
Background in process improvement and process automation
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Possess basic understanding of accounting principles
Possess general knowledge of various Country Tax laws, including VAT/GST and WHT.
Background in Workday Financials is an advantage
