Job Description
Pre-sales reports to Director, Cloud AU and will act as a subject matter expert working with internal stakeholders and channel partners in the development and sale of cloud and service solutions across Australia
JOB SUMMARY
Act as a technical sales resource within Westcon, and liaise with Cloud and DevOps aligned vendors and partners as needed to fulfil job requirements and maintain vendor and partner satisfaction levels.
Equip, enable and generate awareness of how to position a cross section of technology and service solutions within the Westcon portfolio, creating mindshare internally and in the channel for Westcon Comstor.
Provide pre-sales technical support on technologies and service solutions to channel partners and internal resources - pricing, solutions validation, deal assistance
To ensure customer satisfaction through the timely provision of accurate design and quotation documentation and resolution of customer concerns
To support and enable Westcon cloud and sales teams in the development of business activity.
To promote Westcon - Cloud Sales technical and service capabilities to vendor staff, as appropriate.
Engage and develop relationships with vendor Sales and Pre-Sales staff and work on opportunities in conjunction with them.
Support Account Managers in the achievement of set revenue and GP budgets in line with company directives and objectives.
Work with Westcon - Sales and Products teams to align vendor objectives with Westcon - Cloud and Services business objectives
Lead and assist as required in the development of service solutions for channel or vendor organisations.
Maintain all necessary vendor qualifications and certifications
Meet all reporting deadlines
Meet appropriate quarterly MBOs, as agreed
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
30% Enablement of channel partners, and associated production of design and complex configurations for AWS/Mirantis/Checkmarx networks
20% Design and creation of programs to facilitate business across the Westcon Cloud business around migration, security, storage and virtualization Solutions
10% Contribution to execution of marketing campaigns
20% Development of Westcon capabilities (product or solutions) across AWS Cloud and services as directed by management
10% Self training
Channel Partner enablement
Translation of vendor solutions within Cloud migrations, hybrid cloud, Cloud security and Optimization into a streamlined format that can then be communicated internally and to the partner community.
Supporting resellers through presentations, queries and training as required by the business. Focus on presenting products as solutions, presenting real business benefits and integration with other network architectures.
In conjunction with Westcon - Sales and Vendor teams, assist channel partners to close current and new business.
To maintain exceptional customer service, and consistently strive to exceed customer expectations.
To monitor & manage customer activity.
Assist partners in on boarding of new technology or service solutions where required and progress to vendor tier upgrades.
Assist partners where directed in execution of programs associated with partner certification and/or specialisation in line with Westcon requirements.
Attend technical training on products across the assigned vendor portfolio where required.
Marketing
Provide input and direction to marketing plans on a quarterly basis as required.
Work with the Sales and Product teams to gain input to the development of educational and solutions focused marketing programs for delivery of products & solutions channel.
Contribute to execution of marketing programs for technical content and curriculum development where appropriate.
Development of Westcon - Cloud capabilities
Design and deliver appropriate training to continuously increase the capability of the Westcon - Cloud sales resources to identify potential opportunities to promote the Vendor products and value proposition.
Act as a point person in the development and enablement of new services to meet market or key customer requirements
Self-Training & Assessment of New Technologies
Maintain adequate level of technical expertise and certification.
Keep abreast of Cloud technologies and developments in IT industry.
Conduct regular meetings with Vendor and other complementary vendors to ensure sufficient knowledge of existing or emerging products and technology and maintain strong working relationships.
Attend the Vendor's and industry appropriate conferences and certification events as required or appropriate
Skills and Knowledge
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships quickly and effectively both over the phone and face to face
Sound knowledge and understanding of the AWS or equivalent Cloud pre-sales function and proven success in a technical role
Working knowledge of Cloud migrations, Cloud Security and virtualizations solution
Excellent customer relationship management skills with the ability to interact at all levels including sales, technical and CXO
Intermediate Power Point Skills.
Effective communication skills both orally and written
Good attention to detail and follow-up
Negotiation and persuasion skills
Time Management skills.
Team player but with the ability to work independently
