This will include for example building VM environments, implementing networking solutions, firewalls and automated scripting. The candidate should be keen to learn new technologies as well as applying their own experience to optimising the solution as it is deployed, and trouble-shooting. They will have direct interaction with the customer, to understand their requirements and iterate to achieve the best solution. They will work as part of a wider project team, supported directly by a senior team leader with many years of experience of designing and implementing infrastructure solutions. BS Clearance only, but you need to be SC Clearable The successful person will need to attend the Leatherhead offices ideally Mon-Fri due to the nature of the project work involved. Your future duties and responsibilities: Key duties & responsibilities: - Creation and maintenance of build and design docs - Implementation of infrastructure solutions - CGI lab - Implementation of infrastructure solutions - client site - Test and validation of solutions - Researching new COTS solutions and applying them Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Required competencies for this role: - VMware/ Hyper-V Building/ setup and deployment of VM environments. - Networking good understanding of basic networks (UDP/TCP/IP) IPv4, Switching, Routing etc - Firewalls : Fortinet / PFSense/ Juniper: install/configuration/ maintenance. Understanding of VPNs - Linux Administration Build/configure/maintain - Windows server Administrator Build and configure/maintain - Windows Domain Administration (AD/NFS/DNS/DHCP) - Configuration control : GIT/ GIT Hub - Backups : Microsoft DPM/ VEEAM - Basic Scripting Ansible/PowerShell/python Desired competencies for this role: - Understanding of 5G / Telecoms background - Understanding of satellite communications networks - Antivirus: eg McAfee - Docker - DevOps - NMS Zabbix/ Grafana - Development system tools such as Ticketing systems (JIRA/TRAC), Jenkins We celebrate and reward our colleagues through a variety of methods, and we promote the health and well-being of our members through a range of programs and activities.
