Your Role
Ciena is seeking an Information Security Metrics Lead who has experience in information security data design, data analysis, solution implementation, reporting and dashboard development. The person will be responsible for aggregating and presenting data to management and to demonstrate operational performance and company security risk posture.
In this role, the person will work with the Information Security teams to develop reports and dashboards to provide awareness and accountability of risks across the enterprise organization, and to highlight value delivery by the information security organization. Successful candidate will be able to effectively tell enticing stories from aggregation of operational, security, and project performance data. The roles and responsibilities are as follows:
Stakeholder Engagement (requirements and information gathering)
Align with key resources across the InfoSec organization on metrics prioritization and report cadence
Acquire and consolidate information from InfoSec teams in a timely matter
Provide feedback and drive continuous improvement within the InfoSec organization
Data Design and Analysis
Integration and extract data from application and Infrastructure security solutions
Perform Data Analysis, Database Modeling, Data Management, and Data Governance
Design data architecture and models at scale
Design and automate data ingestion and cleansing to ensure data quality and integrity
Apply data modeling and data flow design to vulnerability management initiatives
Analyzes and interprets security data using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining
Solutioning (tools, technology)
Recommend and implement analytics and reporting solutions for cyber security data
Design, development, and deployment of reports and dashboards
Deliver value utilizing agile tools and, processes in a fast-paced environment
Reporting/UI/UX (presentation, dashboard)
Develop executive and operational dashboards targeting different audiences with ability to drill down to information details
Compile reports, charts and tables based on established analytical methods.
Document findings, presents and makes data-driven and analytics-based recommendations to senior management.
UIX design, including graphic design and UI integration with large datasets
Required Skills:
General experience
Bachelor's Degree or related degree or equivalent work experience
5 years in Cyber Security functions
3 years in data architecture, solutioning, and dashboard development
Data Design and Analysis
Extensive Expertise in data analysis, modeling, and design
Familiar with Application/Infrastructure security datasets and knowledge of Vulnerability and Patch Management
Ability to mine authoritative data from various sources and formulate valuable analysis
Data Solutioning and Reporting
Experience designing and building data warehouse solutions desirable
Familiar with analytic and reporting tools such as R, Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, and Excel
General experience with SQL and database management principles.
Experience with security methodologies and datasets
Experience with automated script scheduling
Experience with various automations tools
Experience with various scripting languages
Soft/desirable skills
Excellent communication skills and enjoys interacting with people via in person and online channels of communication
Experience with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, and others desirable
Advanced technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems and applications is desirable
