OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The Information Technology Group (ITG) provides information and technologies management and support services to the WHO technical programmes in the Region. The unit is also responsible for the formulation, implementation and coordination of IT strategies and policies in the Region.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The incumbent will perform the following functions: * Analyze, design, develop, test, monitor and maintain new and existing computer applications and services;
Prepare appropriate systems and technical documentation and prepare standards for application development and operations;
Provide user support, guidance and training to all units within the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office and country offices to improve users' computer skills, as required.
Assist in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software for use within the Region;
Advise ways of improving systems, workflows and methods; and
Perform other related duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Graduation from secondary school with formal training in information technology and its applications.
Desirable: University degree and/or certifications in information technology.
Experience
Essential: Minimum of eight years' experience in analysis, design and development of various application systems.
Desirable: Experience in Visual Studio, Asp.Net MVC, Asp.Net Core, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, CSS, SQL Server (T-SQL), Angular, Kendo UI, Bootstrap, development and integration in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, MuleSoft API platform, Devops and agile methodologies.
Skills
Extensive knowledge of application analysis, design, development and operations.
Competence in planning and execution of work and in the presentation of facts and ideas.
Ability to communicate and obtain users' cooperation.
Familiarity with emerging technologies and ability to learn and apply new technical skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse education and cultural backgrounds and maintain a high standard of personal conduct

REMUNERATION
WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at PHP 746,790 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
