Nature of Job:
The job of a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) Technician involves the setting up, maintenance, installation and trouble-shooting of commercial and industrial RAC equipment's such as but not limited to motor control, Air-conditioning system and auxiliary equipment. This job requires theoretical and actual knowledge on air conditioning and refrigeration as well as practical mechanical, plumbing and electrical understanding.
Basic Task:
Diagnose the refrigeration system and AC system with proper history background.
Provide ideas on maintenance/design aspects.
Provide plumbing/electrical expertise to assist Facilities Technicians in specific maintenance task
Respond to unscheduled and emergency service requests.
Monitor reliable tools and equipment on stock.
Maintain accurate and up to date plant/client records.
Fully implement the preventive and predictive maintenance program of AC Systems.
Operate Safely by Following Process Safety Standards set by the Company.
Other task assigned by immediate superior.
Education and Training Requirements:
Must have a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate equal to the requirement or equivalent.
Technical training in RAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or equivalent.
Must have at least 6 months - 1 year experience as RAC Technician.
Skills and Competency Requirements:
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various levels of staff.
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions in English, e.g. Chemical product labels, equipment manuals, work orders, etc.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (Minimum 60 lbs.)
Ability to climb steps and ladders and work on roof tops and other high areas.
Ability to work with required safety and personal protective equipment.
Ability to work a flexible workweek, with overtime as required.
Ability to respond to emergency calls after working hours.
Can work with minimal supervision.
Can work under pressure.
