DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures, such as ship components, pipes, boilers, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements.
Ø Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
Ø Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
Ø Inspects work or confers with QA to maintain specified standards and quality.
Ø Trains workers in operation of equipment.
Ø Coordinates with other trade shop to accomplish work orders.
Ø Plan its work simultaneously to finish job order in due time.
Ø Supervise brazing and soldering operations, fitting and assembly of structural frames.
Ø Responsible for the supervision for time keeping of its subordinates and their work records.
Ø Direct and supervise its subordinate at Subic Docks work zone for safety
Ø Make progress report to analyze the work status.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Ø Education:
- Graduate of engineering courses or any related vocational courses.
Ø Experience:
- At least 5-8 years supervisory related experience in a shipyard industry.
Ø Others:
· Must be able to write and communicate effectively in English.
· Good communication, leadership and motivation skills.
· Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
· Must be able work in an industrial environment onboard vessels, dry docks and
shops. Climb ladders, enter tanks, bend crawl and lift in support of ship repair
activates.
· Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and work overtime as needed to get
the job done.
· Computer literate in all MS products to include but not limited to, Excel, word,
power point, MS project and others as required.
