HR Officer (Payroll)
Job Description:
• Collect and verify employee time and attendance records for accurate payroll processing.
• Calculate employee wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions based on established policies and applicable laws.
• Ensure payroll transactions are accurately recorded in the payroll system.
• Validate and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding details, and bank account information.
• Update employee records for changes in salary, benefits, tax status, or other payroll-related adjustments.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of employee data in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Prepare and distribute employee payroll reports as required.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with them.
• Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to government agencies, as required.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary payroll documentation and records.
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and resolve any payroll-related issues or disputes.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees' payroll-related inquiries and provide timely and accurate information.
• Assist employees in understanding their pay structure, deductions, and tax-related matters.
• Address payroll-related concerns and resolve discrepancies or errors promptly.
• Collaborate with the HR team to ensure effective communication and coordination regarding payroll matters.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy.
• Participate in the implementation and testing of payroll system upgrades or enhancements.
• Recommend and implement best practices to ensure effective payroll operations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related.
• Proven experience as a payroll officer, payroll specialist, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation.
• Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets and other relevant software applications.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
