Responsibilities

Key Result #1: Program Development, Quality & Implementation (50% of the time)
1. Enhance health and nutrition program design and apply strategies to develop and implement relevant and innovative projects;
2. Review activity designs and incorporate minimum standards and good practices for development and humanitarian settings;
3. Develop /co-create contextualized FH Sector Quality standard checklist Strengthen technical excellence of Team in health and nutrition programming through capacity-building activities like training, facilitation of learning/brownbag sessions, mentoring and coaching, etc.
4. Contribute to building CO program portfolio, targeting external funding from institutional, corporate, and private donors in coordination with Partnership Development & Advocacy Unit;
5. Forge partnerships with government agencies, non-government organizations, or individuals for technical and/or financial support to health and nutrition projects;
6. Act as the functional supervisor to the sector leads in the Area Programs Provide technical review of project reports and advocacy materials in health and nutrition;
Key Result #2: Technical Monitoring, Accountability & Learning (20 % of the time)
1. Conduct network meetings for consultation, share learning on health and nutrition;
2. Conduct field visits to provide direct and immediate assistance to area offices; track program soundness and progress
3. Validate technical reports to ensure compliance to health and nutrition-related mechanism, policies, and procedures
4. Evaluate the Health and Nutrition program/project inputs and output and incorporate them into the next planning session
5. Ensure that program quality and achievement indicators are achieved in the project implementation
Key Result #3: Strengthen expertise in health in emergencies (20% of the time)
1. Contribute to the development of health in emergencies projects;
2. Provide capacity building for staff and partners in health in emergencies;
3. Contribute to data gathering, validation, and coordination with the assessment team;
4. Provide technical input in the Emergency Response Plan;
5. Act as the technical focal person for the Emergency Response Team
Key Result #4: Staff management and development (10% of the time)
1. Models leadership to all staff and intentionally develops the leadership potential of key staff in the FH field by walking closely with the senior leadership team, and coaching and mentoring key direct reports;
2. Identify technical competency gaps of project staff and partners about health and nutrition program and management; recommend interventions to close the gaps
3. Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of staff working in health and nutrition;
4. Disseminate best practices and updates on health and nutrition.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors' Degree in Nursing, Nutrition, International Development, Social Sciences/ Social Work, or any related field. Graduates of other courses may be considered if he/ she has the experience and competency requirements of the post. A masters' Degree in the above degrees or a degree in Medicine would be an advantage.
Experience: With at least 10 years experience in conceptualization, design, development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of projects in development organizations (consecutive experience is preferred,); Experience working in projects related to ending poverty and child rights-based programming is necessary. Strong background in health, nutrition, social-behavioral change-related projects, preferably funded by a diverse set of funding institutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position serves as the functional supervisor to all sector leads in health and nutrition. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, etc.
Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
