OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Within this role you will be expected to lead the Talent Development Department to deliver effective training to meet all business needs including supporting performance management. You will be responsible for the development plans within each department and assisting managers through coaching and training - to better support their line reports throughout their development journeys.
You will be responsible for managing the trainers within the region and ensuring they hit their own performance targets and personal development plans. Within this role we would expect you to work alongside other global heads of department and directors within Talent Development to ensure global alignment and consistency where possible and deliver on global projects as a team.
Finally, we would expect you to maintain an extremely close alignment with service quality teams to ensure that when negative trends are identified the Talent Development team work to support the business in improving these and achieving company targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training in APAC: 30%
Work closely with other Global Training Managers to ensure consistency and innovation
Ensuring that the first 48 hours of an employee's tenure is inspirational, welcoming, and effective
Oversee that inductions are delivered consistently that meet the business need in terms of resource required and being fit for purpose on joining their teams and the onboarding experience is unsurpassed
Oversee the delivery of training for all employees in APAC to ensure it maximizes their performance and motivation
Evaluate training to ensure it is effective and current so that employees are trained effectively through engaging sessions and perform in line with business need
Manage the training managers effectively to have excellent communications between the department and the rest of business
Ensure training delivery is consistent, measurable, and sustainable, as well as effective and dynamic.
Supports the Training Manager to deliver a strategic plan to drive the training department to continually deliver dynamic and deliverable training Supporting on the delivery of Training as required
Performance management in APAC: 15%
To work with line managers to help them understand the importance of all individuals having regular reviews / 121s / appraisals to ensure regular and effective performance management of team members.
To train line managers on how to set FAST objectives and key results with appropriate actions so that employees know what their goals are, how they are going to get there and feel they have the appropriate level of support from their line manager
To give ongoing support to line managers in driving performance
To tie in the goals of the training department with making the most of our talent by developing them via training
Talent Management: 10%
To coach line managers on how to manage role development effectively to ensure there is a consistent approach across the business and that we retain the best people
To encourage development in all areas of the business across all levels (in alignment with the Director of Talent Developments' goals)
To support the Ops Management Team in managing the underperforming talent besides the best via performance management processes and coaching of line managers
Future Planning: 10%
Develop processes and systems within Talent Development to affect a more efficient, streamlined and value-adding service to the business
Team management: 10%
Hold regular 1-2-1's and quarterly reviews of performance with Training Managers in APAC to optimize performance and output of the training department
Ensure OKRs are regularly reviewed and feed into the overall APAC OKRs
Oversee that the requisite level of training, support and tools for the department are provided to ensure that they are fully competent in their roles, to maximize job satisfaction and to make the department as scalable and efficient as possible
Global Projects: 20%
Attend regular steering committee meetings on a global scale to discuss future global projects
Ensure you take on and own at least one global project per 6 months
Ensure global awareness on every new APAC project started
Ensure global alignment on all new processes launched or at a minimum have a plan in place for global launch
