Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Country QHSE team to achieve implementation, monitoring and control of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards in line with local regulations, the Company's, Asia Pacific (APAC) Region and Group policies and procedures
- Continuously monitor, measure and report on compliance with all QHSE legislation and the Company's HSE management systems, applicable to the Company's activities
- Provide interpretation and technical advice on QHSE legislation, enforce QHSE regulations, source timely and competent advice from regulatory authorities as may be appropriate and communicate to all concerned Company stakeholders
- Ensure relevant certifications are maintained and/or achieved (HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, OHSAS 18001 to ISO45001 transition, BCP etc.) in Food Services (FS), Facilities Management (FM) and Remote Sites accordingly
- Support the Operations to implement and regularly review with them the QHSE processes & KPIs
- Partner with the Operations leadership, FS & FM operations teams and Regional QHSE team in delivering a continual improvement and safety culture with the goal of zero harm and no food related incidents
- Establish a strong link with Operations and HR to ensure effective management of workers compensation claims and participate in operation meetings
- Prepare a monthly report for Human Resources Director and Quality Assurance and Customer Relations Manager relating to costs, accidents, incidents and claim activities
- Participate in the review process of annual Safety Improvement Plan (SIP)
- Set up educational programs and campaigns to promote safety culture at work and environmental awareness and effective HSE strategies for management
- Control implementation of QHSE Procedures by ensuring internal and external audits are conducted on sites for workplace safety and for Food Safety when appropriate and ensure follow ups and action plans are conducted in a timely manner
- Participate in HSE audits by external inspectors
- Ensure all accreditation activities are achieved within budget and time frame Maintain HSE statistics and generate accurate reports
- Ensure maintenance of up-to-date documentation on the Sharepoint and regular communication with the operations to keep them informed of any changes related to QHSE
- Contribute QHSE articles to the Company's regular communications and publications
- Coordinate and support products non-conformance and accident investigations, root cause analysis and reporting, providing recommendations and proposing adequate corrective actions
- Ensure quality and conformity of the food products by participating in Suppliers/Products selection process and conducting annual Suppliers' audits as per audit plan
- Add value via coaching, training, reporting, cultural safety program implementation, inductions, hazard analysis and risk minimization processes
- Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QHSE Standards and the relevance to business objectives
- Provide support to business development teams with the bid documents, QHSE management plans and meet prospective clients as and when required
- Meet and support any specific client expectations / concerns with respect to QHSE for on-sites clients and occasionally remote sites and ensure it is addressed to client satisfaction in consultation with the operational leadership
- Provide mobilization support to all new sites and operations and ensure QHSE standards get a head start in all new contracts
- Assess the Philippines QHSE Department organization, performance and strategy and develop capacities across the QHSE team through ASPIRE
- Participate as a member of the Philippines Country Leadership Committee (CLC)
- Report on SIP progress, strategy, actions, results, incident investigations and shortcomings to the CLC and APAC regional QHSE leadership team on at least a once monthly basis during face-to-face meetings or conference calls
- Establish safety committee and conduct monthly safety committee meeting to solve any occurring safety issues and improve safety in premises and works
- Act as an Occupational Health (Ergonomic) and Safety and Food Safety representative for the company Train and coach unit managers, chief engineers and HSE representatives on site to perform risk assessments
Qualifications:
- Has extensive experience of 10 years in Food and Workplace Health & Safety Recognized university degree from accredited QHSE or Engineering program
- Exposure to QA systems, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, BCP QHSE experience in Food Services and Facilities Management experience preferred
- Has at least 2 years of experience in the service industry
- Experienced in development, implementation and management of projects
- Working knowledge of the statutory requirements and their application in Occupational Health & Safety
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation
- Knowledge of government agencies and key stakeholders framework
- Highly developed communications skills including verbal, written and formal presentation
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Access
- Facilitation, training and coaching skills
- Excellent communication, time management and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and best practice
- Strong customer focus
- Flexibility to travel throughout Philippines
