Job Description
The Head of Internal Audit is primarily responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the office
Key job results include accurate, reliable, and timely submission of audit reports; annual audit plan accomplished and completed, improved internal controls; and professional growth of internal audit staff.
Organizes the activities of the office
Schedules audit activities for the year.
Arranges work schedules and assignments of staff.
Ensures adequacy of staff and supplies.
Prepares audit policies and standard operating procedures
Conducts audit and submits findings and recommendations to superior.
Ensures that all audit findings and recommendations are properly discussed with the concerned Department Heads and CEO and monitors implementation of approved recommendations.
Reviews audit reports prepared by the internal audit staff before submission to the CEO.
Participates in the development of the annual audit plan.
Coordinates with Management and staff of various departments to obtain information necessary for conducting internal auditing.
Oversees housekeeping activities.
Ensures cleanliness of the premises at all times.
Schedules pest control activities.
Acts as Officer-in-Charge of Internal Audit in the absence of the Internal Auditor.
Attends internal and external meetings.
Strengthens professional competence through participation in continuing educational programs.
Performs other related functions assigned by superiors.
Establishes accounting and control methods, procedures and systems.
Ensures that pre/post audit activities are properly carried out and that audit reports are accurate, reliable and submitted on time..
Supervises and coaches audit staff and evaluates their performance.
Monitors progress of audits to ensure all processes are being followed and the audit
program is complete and up to date
Examines and evaluates the effectiveness of the system of internal controls..
Assists Audit staff with technical requirements and problems arising in the course of their audits.
Develops and recommends policies and procedural changes in accordance with accounting and auditing standards.
Job Qualification
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant
3 years experience in internal auditing
