Job Summary
 
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Hardware Development Engineer located in Cebu, Philippines.
 
What a typical day looks like:
Responsible for the design, engineering, development and release of the electronics hardware and software portions of the final products to meet internal and external specifications
Experience using key interfaces/subsystems (e.g. DCDC converter, MCU, memory, Communication protocols (e.i.. CAN, LIN, I2C ). Preferably Power Supply design experience.
Experience working with SW teams to develop work plans and interface requirements between Hardware and Software.
Assist in reviewing customer requirements, identify and communicate potential issues and provide recommendations that will meet both Flex capabilities and customers' specifications.
Participate in the design and development of new products. Assume engineering responsibility of design tasks during all product development phases, including quoting, breadboards, prototypes, testing, validation and release to production.
Participate in customer and internal technical design reviews. Provide innovative ideas for improving product performance, manufacture-ability and cost
Participate in the preparation and presentation of both, high and detailed level technical presentations to customers, suppliers and internal Flex teams.
Prepare and maintain appropriate and required product documentation, including customer specification and Federal Regulations.
Experience running designs through DFM, DFT and DFA review.
Conduct testing and evaluate test results. Identify root cause of problems and provide corrective actions and recommendations. Interact with customer and suppliers to resolve system issues.
Work with minimal instruction and guidance. Exercise independent judgement in decision-making within defined procedures and acceptable limits.
Travel as needed to support customers, suppliers and Flex manufacturing plants
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Possesses a Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
Minimum 4 years of working experience in the related field is required
Required skills: ECAD workload and automotive communication protocol; CAN, LIN and I2C
