BASIC FUNCTION
Position Overview
GL Accounting Supervisor is respsonsible in managing monthly/quarterly/ annual accounting close, P&L reviews, balance sheet recs, journals, assist in preparation and review of tax and stat accounts, monthly sales report revoew and adjustments, US GAAP and IFRS knowledge and reporting, internal and external audit, and cash flow management. For this role, we are looking for someone that has an experience in managing teams of 2-3 teammates.
Ensures that all tasks performed comply with Insight's Policies and Procedures.
What you'll do at Insight
This position will be responsible for leading a team of two senior accountants and leading the areas of the business including but not limited to the below
Responsible for providing accounting shared services to AU and NZ entity- P&L and Balance sheet support- including but not limited to General Ledger Accounting, Revenue Analysis, Tax and Compliance - income tax and indirect tax, Statutory Accounting, Audit, Bank and Treasury, Reconciliations. Month end/Qtr End and Year Ends
Month end responsibilities various other month end / quarter end activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of month end/quarter end in accordance with various USGAAP /SOX requirements
Supporting APAC revenue recognition process - thorough understanding of IFRS 15, will be a regional expert for revenue recognition across 5 APAC entities, performs quarterly SOX testing, posts revenue adjustment journals, liaises with the US to understand and address any rev rec implications, communicates with the wider INSIGHT team on rev rec processes, drives improvements and ensures APAC is compliant with global policies. Perform monthly multi element /multi-year analysis
Support monthly cash flow preparation and reporting for APAC
Services accounting - Work with the services controller to help in services close and backup that area when needed
Responsible for APAC Interco Recs and tie outs, settlements, and clearings and reconciliations
Responsible for Bank Reconciliations, cash and Bank and Interco clearings
Backup certain areas of the business - as required
Take on additional work as may be required
Assist in preparation of quarterly SEC packets (Quarterly US reporting)
Assisting in statutory and Internal audits
What you'll need to join at Insight
Qualified CPA or equivalent
Managing small teams (2-3 teammates)
Minimum 5 years' experience in an SAP environment
Hyperion/Essbase knowledge and experience -essential - 3-5 years
Managed Stat Accounts, Tax Returns and audits
Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
Manages high level of complexity
Advanced User of MS Excel
Attention to details and accuracy
Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
Minimum 7 years' experience in a Financial Accounting role within a commercial firm with relevant accounting experience per main duties and responsibilities above. At least 4 years in a senior accounting supervisor role
Experienced working in a multinational environment and handled multiple entities
Planning and organizing skills
Problem solving and analytical skills
Can do attitude
Excellent team player
