The department scope of works covers Plant Piping Design of various plants such as Waste to Energy (WTE) plants, Chemical plants, Oil & Gas, and from planning, 3D modeling up to detailed design including analysis of critical pipes, and output required deliverables such as piping spools, general arrangement drawings, MTO, and so on. It also covers 3D modeling system project administration and interface development
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the department's operational systems, processes and policies in support to the organization visions/business goals. Improving department business functions, mentoring/guiding section heads, developing strategic plans, creating policies, and communicating business goals.
Develop strategies to improve overall quality and productivity.
Prepare regular reports for top management
Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally. To identify and develop department's competencies and skills necessary for the operation
To achieve set core process Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the department
Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between sections through communication with managers for successful task completion
Address client inquiries promptly and professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
Interact and coordinate effectively with clients, other design disciplines and support sections/department to ensure smooth execution of the work
Ensure department's work output are in compliant with client requirements and standards.
Conduct performance evaluation of assigned personnel.
Provide training opportunities and training plans for personnel to strengthen the design skills of the department.
Look for work scope expansions and opportunities of the department and recommend to top management
Develop and review regularly effectiveness of workflow, procedures, etc.
Requirements:
Graduate of BS Mechanical Engineering; PRC Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Minimum 15 years work experience in Plant Piping Design and/or 3D Modeling System Project Administration and development of interface tools for 3D System software such as AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or other known tools in the industry. Applicants with work experience in other design field are welcome.
With at least 10 years' experience in supervisory / people management role (at least 3 years' experience with same position as required)
Well-versed international codes and standards particularly JIS and ASME.
Has strong communication skills with the ability to direct and motivate personnel.
Has strong management and team building skills
Must be able to recommend and communicate business concerns/goals with counterpart and top management
Capable to communicate in Japanese is a plus factor (N3 and above level) and has a working experience directly with Japanese client is an advantage.
Has a good command of all standard office computer systems (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.)
Must be able to guide and manage assigned personnel to execute a given task or project.
Willing and interested to work with Japanese and other nationalities
Must be willing to learn / improve his/her Japanese Language to have better communication with Japanese counterparts.
