Summary Description:
The GL Accountant is responsible for the completion of day-to-day accounting functions of Flexi Finance Asia Inc. relative to compiling, analyzing, posting, and reporting basic financial information in a timely and accurate manner. He/she also prepares month-end account reconciliations to ensure that both General Ledger balances against Subsidiary Ledger balances are accounted for and variances are valid reconciling items. This position reports to the Chief Accountant and is based in Cebu, Philippines.
Role Definition:
Maintains the Company’s Chart of Accounts and Master Data Management;
Process Journal Entries, Allocations, and period-end Adjustments;
Perform Month-end Reconciliation between GL vs. SL account and provide variance analysis and explanation;
Ensure that bank to bank transactions are done in an accurate, complete and timely manner;
Maintains the merchant’s bank details in the Company’s ERP system;
Updates bank to bank conversion of merchants in case payment methods changes;
Maintains merchant master data in the electronic banking’s facility;
Preparation of payment’s for the agent’s commission;
Preparation of journal entries relative to merchant payments, agent’s commission, money transfer charges and other applicable data;
Process Fixed Assets Register to encompass additions, retirements, disposals, depreciation, revaluations, transfers;
Ensure Month-end proceedings are adhered to and complied with expected service level agreements;
Address escalations and recommend its effective resolutions;
Prepare monthly financial statements for input to Key Performance Indicator (KPI);
Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation;
Computation of Sales incentives and commissions
Propose, if applicable, necessary changes to existing accounting procedures;
Participate in ad hoc projects;
Assist Chief Accountant as deemed necessary;
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferably a CPA;
2 years + of relative experience in the same capacity;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel;
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
