The duties and responsibilities of the GL Accountant are listed below and should be considered non-exhaustive:
• Prepare and process journal entries
• Perform account reconciliation of all GL accounts
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts in a timely, effective manner
• Perform monthly closing procedures
• Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliation
• Generate and analyze various monthly and quarterly reports from the general ledger (standard financial statements and other specific reporting requirement)
• Respond timely to requests and inquiries about reports and analysis using financial reporting tools and databases
• Provide necessary support during the internal or external audit and budget preparation/reviews
• Collaborate with all levels of management regarding budgets, forecasts, projects, and performance against plans
• Recommend actions or alternatives to be taken by management when accounting data disclose unfavourable trends or deviations or financial mismanagement
• Assist on all matters related to GL and financial reporting
• Assist with ad-hoc duties, administrative tasks as required
Education & Work Background
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting Technology or related field
Minimum of 3 years of work experience handling general accounting and/or records-to-reports transactions in a finance outsourcing industry for a US account
Previous work experience in ERP systems, and with Oracle is an advantage
Familiarity in IFRS and GAAP standards
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (i.e. VLOOKUP, Pivot table, Charts, and Graphs, etc.)
Willing to work in night shift and amenable to work on holidays, weekend, and shifting schedule
