Brief Description
The General Accounting Officer is responsible for implementing financial policies and procedures and maintain complete and accurate records of financial information summarized through financial statements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounting staff should:
Record to report (R2R)
Record journal entries in Quickbooks/Netsuite for the assigned business unit/s
Perform account reconciliations including bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliation, and resolve the reconciliation items in a timely manner
Perform period-end activities in accordance with the finance close schedules and policies and procedures
Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) for the assigned business unit every period
Maintain records and reports
Assist in financial analysis, forecasting and operational metrics tracking
Cost accounting
Assist in planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
Help analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods and services affecting item costs
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic production reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Allocate variances between cost of goods sold and ending inventory
Prepare cost of goods sold reconciliation
Maintain records and reports of cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Assist in making new estimates for standard item costs
General Accounting
Process and record transactions (including purchase orders, bills, item receipts, transfers, production adjustment and item fulfillment) in the Quickbooks/Netsuite, compile supporting documents and ensure completeness of financial documents
Request for cash/check payments for recorded bills.
Ensure consistent implementation of accounting policies and help communicate these policies to other concerned departments
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
Attend team meetings as necessary and prepare presentation materials
Respond to queries and concerns of other departments related to accounting records
Ensure completion of tasks related to assigned accounts and preparing relevant reports
Participate in and perform specific tasks related to achieving departmental targets
Qualifications
The candidate must possess the following:
Graduate of any Bachelors/College degree in Accountancy or BS BA major in Finance Management
Professional License (Passed CPA License Exam)
With 1-3 years of experience in general accounting and record to report
Required skills: Netsuite, Quickbooks, MS Offices
Strong attention to details, organized, and can manage to multi-task and work under pressure. Eagerness to learn, strong commitment, accountability, and motivation at work
SKILLS AND QUALITIES
· Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Accounting staff are required to communicate and coordinate with other departments to provide responses to their queries and concerns or to request for relevant financial information from them necessary to complete and accurate financial reporting
· Report writing Skills
The Accounting staff shall be responsible for preparing accounting reports and schedules to summarize results of operations and outstanding account balances that are concise and easy to understand.
· Analytical and Problem-solving skills
Accounting involves analyzing transactions and events that give rise to the transactions in order to be able to perform appropriate judgement on the proper recording and reporting of those transactions.
· Project Management Skills
Good project management skills would be helpful to organize and complete multiple tasks assigned.
· Arithmetic skills
Accounting involves a lot of computation and formulas. All accounting staff shall be able to understand, interpret and create formulas necessary to come up with financial figures.
· Computer Skills
All recording and reporting processes are done through the Company's accounting information system, Microsoft and Google programs. Accounting staff shall have at least basic knowledge on how to navigate within the accounting information system, and use of Microsoft and Google programs.
