Overview:
This position is responsible for overseeing all finance, reporting, and payroll functions within the organization. It offers a dynamic and fast-paced working environment and provides a long-term career opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Collect, interpret, and review financial data to support decision-making.
Prepare and present financial reports covering budgets, accounts payable and receivable, and expenses.
Monitor, manage, and review budgets to ensure financial health.
Reporting and Advisory:
Provide management with insights on how financial performance and future business decisions may impact the organization.
Reconcile progress claims with progressive payments, variations, and retentions.
Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR):
Perform end-to-end AP and AR management, including data entry and collection.
Conduct credit checks and verify customer trade details.
Payroll Management:
Process fortnightly payroll for approximately 20 employees.
Prepare monthly payroll-related journal entries.
Banking and Payments:
Prepare bank and credit card payments.
Reconcile fuel, tolls, parking, and material purchase expenses.
Compliance and Reconciliation:
Perform Work cover reconciliation and reporting.
Manage overseas procurement from vendors dealing in multiple currencies.
Supplier Management:
Oversee and manage relationships with multiple suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with expertise in financial management, payroll, and reporting roles, or similar roles.
Strong knowledge of budget management, compliance reporting, and reconciliation processes.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
This role requires a proactive professional capable of managing diverse finance and payroll functions while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a busy and evolving environment.
