This General Accountant role will be responsible for timely and accurate financial accounting services, including assistance with month end account preparations, transaction processing, reconciliation and analysis as well as assist with the preparation of planning models and analysis including annual budget, monthly forecast and P&L analysis. This role will also be directly involved with continuous finance process and systems improvement as well as ad hoc projects.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR ROLE
The General Accountant will handle, prepare, compute, manage, research and analyze all accounting data, in order to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, solvency, liquidity and cash flows of our business. Your day could see you:
• Responsible for accurately processing and monitoring of key accounts\finance functions in a timely manner, including invoicing, receipting and accounts payable;
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Sub Ledger Reconciliations (A\R & A\P)
• Review and submit the daily disbursements for the monies collected
• GST & BAS preparation
• Credit Card Reconciliations
• Accounting reviews
• A\R related transactions and reconciliations
• A\P & Supplier transactions and reconciliations & Analysis where required
• Review and Submit the batch payments for approval and payment
• Assist with Month End reconciling of accounts
• Assist with Month End accounting journals and reconciliations
• Assist with Monthly General Ledger reconciliations demonstrating a sound understanding of accounting issues and risks;
• Assist with the preparation of regular forecast and annual budget process;
• You may be asked to participate in a project team from time to time; tasks will be depended on the objectives and nature of the project team and will be in line with your current skill set and capabilities
• Other general accounting duties as requested from the management from time to time
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist with reviewing of expenses etc. as assigned
A BIT ABOUT YOU
• At least 5+ years' experience in a similar role in a medium to large sized business
• A sound knowledge of general accounting principles
• High degree of computer proficiency utilising Microsoft Office applications
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related business area
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work in order to meet deadlines
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Sound analytical and problem solving skills
• Flexibility, with willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks, and juggle tasks
• Contribute to and work within harmonious team environment
